Circulation/ Distribution Manager

Overview:

The Exchange LLC seeks an experienced, self-motivated Circulation/Distribution Manager to ensure the efficient delivery of weekly newspapers and publications across Eastern Washington, North & Central Idaho, Tri-Cities, Wenatchee, and Moses Lake. This part-time role involves overseeing a team of independent contractors, managing distribution operations, and performing field work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team & Contractor Management:
  • Supervise approximately 25-30 independent contractor routes.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor new contractors.
  • Communicate with contractors regarding service issues, route changes, and operational updates.
  • Provide regular feedback to senior management on contractor performance and distribution concerns.
• Distribution Operations:
  • Establish new distribution locations to help reach a target readership of 250,000.
  • Remove underperforming racks and update route sheets.
  • Prepare and count publications for accurate delivery.
  • Inspect publications for quality at the point of distribution.
  • Collect, document, and update distribution reports using data software.
  • Restock publications as needed on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Field Work & Equipment Maintenance:
  • Deliver and confirm publication deliveries.
  • Install or replace racks and weatherguard cover devices.
  • Interact with customers to resolve distribution concerns.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Compliance:
  • Adhere to company policies and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Complete background and driving record checks upon selection.

Qualifications:

• Prior management and people management experience (preferred 1+ year).
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Proficient with Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Active auto insurance.
• Reliable personal transportation (preferably an SUV/Van or Truck).
• Availability for early morning work (primarily on Thursdays).

Additional Details:

• Job Type: Part-time
• Pay: DOE
• Work Locations: Primary office in Spokane, WA; field work across Eastern & Central Washington, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, and North & Central Idaho
• Travel Requirements: 10-20% Weekly
• Physical Requirements: Ability to move and lift bundles up to 17 lbs (includes bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling)

Route Carriers

The Exchange is accepting applications for **delivery drivers** to distribute newspapers to businesses on Thursday mornings.

Drivers must have their own vehicle for assigned routes. Smaller routes take about 3-4 hours, while larger routes may take up to 9 hours.

Applicants must be able to lift bundles of up to **25 lbs**.
