SHBA - Primary Election 2021

primary Election 2021

Another election already? Yes, and although this might seem less exciting than a Presidential election, the outcomes of local, City Council races, affect people’s lives significantly. New roads, parks, and who decides housing policies, is up to these local leaders. So to say these elections are important is an understatement. Here is your guide to this upcoming election and who the Spokane Home Builders Association is endorsing.

Your Ballot Has Arrived
Have you received your ballot to vote in this year’s primary election? Voters all over the state were mailed ballots at the end of last week, so if you didn’t receive yours, be sure to check your voter status at votewa.gov. If you’re not registered to vote, there’s still time to do that too.

Research the Candidates
To start, check out the Online Voters’ Guide (found at www.spokanecounty.org/elections) which contains candidate-submitted content. This information is submitted weeks before the election, so the candidates’ websites will contain the most up-to-date information on endorsements and positions on issues.
The Board of Directors for the Spokane Home Builders Association has also evaluated numerous candidates based on their qualifications, viability, and support of the building industry. You can see a full list of SHBA endorsed candidates at www.SHBA.com/PAC

Return Your Ballot
Once you’ve done your research and made your selections, make sure you return your ballot on time! Make sure your envelope is postmarked by August 3 or visit one of the 22 ballot drop box locations around the county. Find the closest postage-free drop boxes at spokanecounty.org/Ballot-Drop-Box-Locations.
