My name is Brett and I’m with Operation Dog Tag, a non-profit organization. It was founded by Joe Sheffer, a Marine Corps Vietnam combat veteran. His mission is to make an impact and literally save the lives of combat veterans of all ages.
With the suicide rates of veterans at an alarming number in this country, Joe knew he could prevent these tragedies from happening by placing and training service dogs for combat veterans to help ease the pain of PTS (Post Traumatic Stress), and any other physical requirements that a Veteran might need. After training is complete I will be able to go into busy establishments with the ease of knowing “Buddy” is right there with me. Buddy is a Heeler and Chocolate Lab mix. He has an awesome personality that makes me laugh just when I look at him. I have been with Buddy for one week so far and our bond was immediate. I really believe in Operation Dog Tag because it has already changed my life for the better. Buddy is extremely perceptive and can be easily trained. Thanks to Joe and Buddy my perception on life is changing as I speak.
