Las Vegas, Nevada — Sigma Performance Services (SPS) is thrilled to announce that renowned NASCAR driver Greg Biffle will be returning to his racing roots by competing in the ARCA Napa Auto Care 150 at Tri-City Raceway. Biffle will be driving the #23 Chevrolet for SPS in this highly anticipated race, set to take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Thus will be the first appearance of the series at Tri-City Raceway since 2003 and the 10th race in series history.
In a homecoming that pays tribute to his Pacific Northwest origins and devoted hometown fans, Greg Biffle will tackle the unique ½-mile tri-oval challenge of Tri- City Raceway.
Born in Portland and growing up in Vancouver, Washington, Biffle began his illustrious racing career on the bullrings of the Pacific Northwest, making him no stranger to Tri-City Raceway or any of the short-track speedways on the West Coast.
Biffle, who earned a spot on NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers list, is no newcomer to the ARCA Menards West Series. His impressive career includes competition in the former NASCAR Winston West Series in the early 1990s, a stepping-stone in his ascent to the NASCAR Cup Series ranks. Biffle has also achieved significant success as a champion of both the Craftsman Truck Series and the Xfinity Series, showcasing his versatility and talent across different NASCAR divisions.
In collaboration with GMS Fabrication, Chevrolet, and the ARCA Menards Series management group, Greg Biffle is set to return to the track with renewed vigor. His participation in the Napa Auto Care 150 marks a significant moment for both Biffle and SPS as they navigate the challenging turns of Tri-City Raceway.
“I’m so excited to return to the famous Tri-City Raceway” Biffle said. “I’m looking forward to returning to the track in an ARCA West car almost 30 years after I won the track championship.”
SPS team owner Joe Farré expressed his excitement, stating, “We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of Greg’s return to his racing roots in the Pacific Northwest. As a West Coast racer myself, I cannot thank the local supporters, track owners, series sponsor, and series officials enough for the opportunity to return to iconic race tracks like Tri-City Raceway.”
“Greg’s commitment to this race, the racing community, and growing teams like ours just goes to show how important it is that we all work together to keep racing alive in the Pacific Northwest, and across this great country,” Farré added.
The ARCA Menards Napa Auto Care 150 promises to be a thrilling event, showcasing top-tier talent and electrifying racing action. Fans can catch the excitement via livestream.

Kelly Rebounds from Tri-Cities Crash for Seafair Victory
Seattle (Aug. 4) — Eight days removed from flying through the air in Tri Cities at the Columbia Cup and crashing in a preliminary heat, J. Michael Kelly piloted the U-1 Beacon Electric to victory in the Apollo Mechanical Cup on Lake Washington.
Kelly posted an average speed of 141.358 mph to easily outdistance Jamie Nilsen in the U-11 Miss Mercury’s Coffee at 131.051 mph on the 2.5-mile course in the milestone 75th edition of the race.
“This was a much-needed win and just an amazing feeling right now,” Kelly said.
Following a crash-plagued Columbia Cup in which three of the eight-boat field were sidelined, all boats returned to Seattle. Each driver involved in the Tri Cities incidents were treated and released from onsite medical care facilities.
The Strong Racing duo of Kelly and Corey Peabody in the U-9 Beacon Plumbing put on an impressive side-by-side battle in the final lap of the final heat.
However, it was determined by review Peabody encroached on the U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate hydroplane of Andrew Tate and ultimately was assessed a one-minute penalty dropping him to seventh in the final.
“This is just amazing and it just shows you the team that we have and the team that backs me and Corey (Peabody),” Kelly said. “I created a lot of work in Tri-Cities this past week and we spent a lot of hours fixing my boat so to be able to come back from that and chip away and find speed and to win Seattle again is just amazing.”
The H1 Unlimited hydroplanes will be back in action in San Diego, California for Bayfair and the APBA Gold Cup September 13 to 15 for 2024’s final race.
