Construction trades expo

This Thursday, April 28, Spokane Home Builders will be working with the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors (AGC) to host the Construction Trades Expo. This is a FREE event for all ages open to the public, inviting parents, students, and anyone looking to explore a career path in skilled trade, to participate in a hands-on construction experience! No ticket required! Located at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center from 5pm to 8pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for community members of all ages to get hands on experience and face-to-face contact with local Construction & Trade Experts in our area. The AGC is creating an environment for young people to broaden their horizons, and for adults who are potentially looking for a career change, to get first-hand information about what a career in Skilled Trade looks like. Right now, there is a low supply of builders, contractors, construction workers, and other trade specialists, and employment opportunities are bountiful.

Professionals from across the industry - from welders and carpenters to electricians and general contractors --will be there to share their firsthand knowledge and experience for those interested in or seeking to break into the construction industry. Learn about wages, schedules, continuing education opportunities and more in a one-on-one environment. If you are even the least bit curious about the Construction Trades industry, or would like to meet the people who build our communities, this is the event for you!

In addition to this family-friendly, educational event, the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) is also encouraging careers in Trade. BIAW is offering $60,000 in Scholarships and Grants to WA residents. Applications must be submitted by May 2, 2022.
