December 18, 1975 - March 11, 2025
Margaret Mary “Maggie” Lakin, born on December 18, 1974, in San Fernando, California, peacefully departed this life on March 11, 2025. Maggie was a radiant spirit whose passion for the arts and boundless love for those around her deeply defined her journey in this world.
Maggie graduated from St. Michael’s Academy in 1993 and later showcased her talents by starring in a memorable theatrical production while attending Spokane Community College. From skiing on the slopes of Mount Spokane to dancing joyfully at family gatherings, Maggie embraced life’s pleasures with enthusiasm. In her youth, she also proudly served as a lifeguard, consistently demonstrating her commitment to helping others. Later in life, Maggie moved to San Diego, CA, and then to Orlando, FL, where she treasured her time enjoying the beaches and ocean.
Behind her luminous smile was a gentle, generous soul who found immense joy in uplifting those around her through kind words and heartfelt encouragement. Maggie was known for her warmth, humor, compassion, and unwavering loyalty to her family and friends. Above all else, her greatest joy was being a devoted and loving mother to her cherished daughter, Madison McLean.
Maggie is preceded in death by her brother Dave. She is survived by her daughter, Madison; her loving parents, John and Ruthie; her siblings, Anna (Dan), Mary, Paul (Jeanne), Jay (Amy), Matthew, Brian, Michael, and Timmy; nephews Samuel, Kaleb, Logan, and nieces Ahbrianna, Alleana, Ruby, Sophia, and Kimiko. Although Maggie is no longer with us, her vibrant spirit, heartfelt compassion, and dedicated love will live on in the cherished memories and countless lives she touched. May her radiant light continue to inspire and guide us always.
A rosary will be held at 7pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Mount St. Michael, 8500 N. St. Michaels Rd., Spokane, WA 99217.
