Marlene was a caring and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on Dec. 27, 2022 at age 75.
She was born in Spokane, Washington to parents Arthur and Erline Helen (Mullenix) Bourcy. After graduating from Mead High School, Marlene married the love of her life in 1966, Alvin (Tye) James Yaeger who she met at Maude, a one room schoolhouse in the third grade. They had one daughter, Lisa Yaeger (Poplawski Lewis).
Besides brief stays in Pullman, WA, Germany (while Tye was stationed in the Army) and Anchorage, Alaska. Marlene was a life-long resident of Spokane.
Marlene loved spending time in the kitchen and crafting/sewing, creating incredible treasures for family, friends, and neighbors.
She had an incredible gift for baking, decorating her home, caring for flowers, and didn’t miss a movie that would make her laugh out loud. Christmas and any occasion where she spent time with family and friends were her most cherished moments. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or any celebratory occasion.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Poplawski Lewis and grandchildren, Joliana and Colton Poplawski – the pride and joy of her life. They were blessed to have such a fun and close relationship.
